The Cottage

As some of you already know, the plan was for James and I to move into the cottage located on his parents property. They have a 1 km long driveway and the house and cottage are seperated by the km so it's not like we would be living next door to his parents (FYI).

This cottage was built by James' parents when the boys (James and his bro David) were about 3. They lived in the cottage until the kids were about 7 and then built the house that they live in today. So the cottage is about 20 years old and hasn't been renovated yet.

James has decided that he would like to renovate the bathroom, the kitchen and re-sand and finish all the floors. I have taken refinishing of the kitchen cabinets into my own hands and James and Brad will be on floor sanding duty. Also, we have been given the green light to replace all the curtains, the stove and the dishwasher.

The place is incredibly adoreable with a full veranda all the way around. Lots of wood and exposed beam ceiling. Love the open floor plan!
Bathroom definitely needs work, and it would be really nice to have the kitchen counter a different color. At the moment it's sort of a rose color. YUCK.
