Countryside devastated by Black Saturday Fires

Some of you may remember that i was fretting back in February because the bush fires were really close to James' house. Well, i didn't realize how close exactly until i took a drive up there myself to take a look. It's largest hit area is about 30 minutes drive from James' house up this pass called "The Black Spur". It's a gorgeous drive through rainforest and fields but it soon turns to an eerie landscape with many a charred tree. The grass has since regrown so the fields are a lush green, but the trees themselves look very weird without leaves and with black branches and bark.

In this picture,is a mountain in the background which was all aflame during those terrible bush fires. Thats why it looks really sparse.

It's a really eerie feeling to drive through this area and i continued on to one of the hardest hit towns called Marysville. Read my next post for more about this town.
