Stacey has most of the pictures from our lovely trip but here are some that i took with my little point and shoot. Our trip was absolutely amazing and went by way toooo quickly. It was a lot of - distance to travel (Melbourne - Brisbane) and definitely not enough time to see everything that we really wanted to see. Originally we wanted to drive all the way up to the Whitsunday Islands but we definitely did not have enough time to do that. A trip for another time for sure!
Most of you know that we rented a campervan but for those of you that didn't know you do! It was a Britz fully equipped with a kitchen complete with fridge and bed that converted into a table. We didn't have a bathroom or shower on board but we honestly never found that to be a problem.
We picked some amazing camping grounds to stay at...some where we would definitely go back...and some perhaps not so much.
The one we stayed at South of Sydney looked great on paper...but failed to tell us that they had a curfew..yes, curfew. The boom gates to the camping grounds closed at 9 pm. Our first night in Sydney we raced back to the camping ground and still made it in at about 9:30...but the second night we stayed there we got held up with trains and when we got to the ground the gates were closed and we were locked out :( We ended up sleeping in a random little dirt lot with another campervan full of travelers...although we stayed on seperate ends of the lot it was fun to spy and be silly since we had nothing better to do. Some great laughs!
Anyways i definitely need to write more about this trip so stay tuned!
