Boy do i have a lot of catching up to do. When i first arrived in Australia, i was helping out in a local cafe and then i took a job working in the conference and events department at the local country club. However, it wasn't that challenging for me and i was really yearning to get back into marketing. I sent out tons of applications for jobs but it's very hard to get your foot in the door over here unless you know someone.
Funnily enough, my good friend Stacey is going to be photographing the wedding of a girl from America who will be marrying an Australian in Sept. Her name is Maureen and she also lives in Melbourne. Naturally, Stacey gave me Maureen's email address so that i could get in touch with her because she just got herself a job working for Cover Girl cosmetics here in Australia. So i emailed her to get a bit of an insight into the techniques she used to find her job etc. Fast forward a few weeks and i get an email from Maureen saying that a Marketing Assistant position had opened up and that she was going to recommend me for the job. How exciting!!
So fast forward a bit more and here I am as the new marketing assistant at The Heat Group, a cosmetics distributor for P&G (Max Factor and Cover Girl) but they also own Ulta3 and NYC and distribute Bourjois and Elite Accessories.
Curious about the company?? www.heatgroup.com.au
